JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager of Events & Marketing reports to the Head of Marketing & Communications and is responsible to perform the below tasks as well as to support the Marketing & Communications team to communicate and work closely with internal and external stake holders in arranging, organizing and managing company’s events & marketing initiatives. This position also involves conceptualizing strategies and marketing activities in helping the company to grow and achieve its objectives.
Responsibilities:
- To act as the Head for Events & Marketing Unit.
- To conceptualize and execute events as launches, conferences, exhibitions, online an on-ground activities, contests and public relations campaigns and other collaborations.
- To handle the sourcing and securing of sponsorship and to manage budgets.
- To contribute to and develop marketing plans and strategies.
- To develop and implement communication strategies and information programs to push the Company’s products and services.
- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with media representatives and organize familiarization trips to promote consistent and effective communications.
- To monitor media coverage for each projects executed.
- To handle all media relations and local/ international corporate communications support for the Company including assisting in writing and disseminating news releases, speeches, interviews, writing, proof reading; and issues and crisis management.
- To handle copywriting and to supervise the production of marketing materials including leaflets, posters, flyers and newsletters.
- To liaise with designers and printers in arranging the effective distribution of marketing materials.
- To evaluate marketing campaigns as well as to monitor competitors’ activities.
- To write, manage and disseminate internal communications message, including CEO’s memos.
- To oversee inflight magazine publications, articles and destination marketing.
- To support the Head of Marketing & Communications and the team in other tasks as and when required.
- Degree in Mass Communication/ Public Relations/ Marketing/ Business Studies.
- Extensive knowledge of marketing, events, communications and media planning experiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability in managing events and marketing activities in a competitive market.
- Proactive, creative and self-motivated person.
- Has excellent communications skills both written and oral in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Confident in establishing relationships with many varied internal and external stakeholders with whom the role is expected to work daily.
- Must be willing to travel and have own transport.
